How to send money

With Brightwell, you can choose from many different ways to send money home. Read the FAQs and watch the videos to learn how.

OnDemand Transfer

Send money to a bank at the best time for you. You decide how much to send and when to send your money.

  • Login to your Brightwell Navigator account.
  • If you need to add a new bank account, click on Bank Account at the top > Add Bank Account.
  • Choose the country where the beneficiary bank is located.
  • Click Next.
  • Choose the currency that you want the money to be received in (**Important note: if you are sending USD to a foreign bank (non-US) then you will likely be charged additional fees from the beneficiary or intermediary bank between $30 - $50 per transfer in addition to the Brightwell fee).
  • Confirm the country and currency. 
  • Enter the Beneficiary and Bank details (you will need to get all of this information from the beneficiary bank).
  • Once bank accounts are entered, choose the amount you want to send, approve the FX rate and Brightwell fee and proceed to process.

DirectPay

Allocate your pay, send to a bank account every payday. 

  • Log in to your Navigator account.
  • Click DirectPay.
  • Choose the bank account and the percentage you want to go directly to that bank every payday. If you have not setup your bank account yet, please exit the page and go to Bank Accounts and set up your bank from there. If you already have done this before, please proceed to step 4.
  • Click Submit and Done.

Cash Pickup

Send cash in minutes to thousands of locations around the world.*

  • Cash Pickup is the fastest way to send money with Brightwell. Your family can pick up the money anywhere that the service Transfast or Moneygram is provided. Cash is available in 24 hours or less*.
  • To send Cash Pickup, either log into the Brightwell Navigator mobile app (or the website), select Cash Pickup and follow the instructions.
  • Important! At the end of the transaction on the receipt, you will get a Transfast PIN or MoneyGram Reference Number that you give to the receiver to pick up the money.

* Verification times vary and may delay delivery of funds to the Receiver.

Card-to-Card Transfer

Quickly send money to another Brightwell cardholder.* 

This is an easy way to send money to a family member or another Brightwell card holder with a Companion Card. You need the card number, expiration month and year. You can save this information for easy transfers in the future. 

  • Login to Navigator and tap Send Money.
  • Tap on Card-to-Card Transfer and enter in the amount you want to send. 
  • Select the card you want to send it to and Tap Transfer Now. 
Review details then press confirm.

Companion Card

A Companion Card is a second Brightwell Card that a crew member can request for a family member or friend.

The Companion Cardholder must be at least 18 years old with a valid government ID. The Companion Card can be used at an ATM for cash withdrawal, online, and in-store for purchases. The Companion Card’s balance is separate from the primary card and has its own account on Brightwell Navigator.

To request a Companion Card:
  • Primary cardholder will log in to the website platform of Navigator, www.brightwellnavigator.com.
  • Click “My Card” on the top bar.
  • Select “Request a Companion Card” on the left-hand menu.
  • Complete the request form.
  • Attach a scan of the government-issued photo ID of the companion.
  • Check the boxes to agree with the terms and conditions.
  • Submit the request. Please allow up to 3-5 business days to process.
